While using Tephra's ALT MAP ECU PATCH, the EVO VIII's (JDM and EDM EVO
IX's as well) have the ability to switch between the STANDARD set of fuel,
ignition and BOOST maps and an ALTERNATE set of fuel, ignition and BOOST
maps with the use of their AUTO MODE switch which controls their Intercooler
Sprayer System (ICS) located in the center console. This is done without
affecting the use and function of the ICS system too. The AUTO MODE switch
simply becomes multi-functional.
When the alternate set of maps are active, the ICS indicator light in the
instrument cluster will blink once every 3-5 seconds to alert the user that they
are running on the alternate maps.
